MICHAEL HEARL

Hi… I'm Michael Hearl. I help individuals,  couples and families with their unique navigation through the final third of life…approximately ages 60-90…what I call “Life 3.0”.

One can lose momentum on their “good path” through 3.0 by just “drifting”, OR, build momentum by “designing”. It’s challenging territory. Having a seasoned guide alongside is a good thing. Momentum for you and  your household on a good path… that’s my promise to you.

Here’s how I do it: I take people through the proven process of “D3” in their particular set of circumstances, considering those resources of time, talents and treasure entrusted into their hands for good stewardship.

DISCOVERY
YOUR "WHY?"
DESIGN
YOUR "WHAT"
DELIVERY
YOUR "HOW"

The five arenas we apply "D3" in are:

  1. S oul
  2. A dventure

  3. L egacy

  4. T ransformation

  5. You & Your house

After all... "You are the salt of the earth"

S

SOUL

I believe that you and I are three-part creations…Spirit, soul and body. At the nexus of these three is the one-and-only “you”. I agree with Dallas Willard’s definition: “You are an unceasing spiritual being with an eternal destiny in God’s great universe.”  In today’s parlance, your soul is the internal “Operating System”.

When the “Op Sys” draws from all three areas the result is a thriving, fruitful human being.

A

ADVENTURE

I also agree with Helen Keller, who said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”  As long as we’re “waxing poetic” here, we might as well toss in the provocative question posed by poet Mary Oliver: “Tell me, what is it that you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” (From: “The Summer Day”)

Adventure carries with it the element of the unexpected, the unplanned for. No shortage of that in Life 3.0 territory.

L

LEGACY

Let’s face reality. We ALL are going to leave behind a legacy. Only question is: what kind? Good, bad or indifferent?  What we leave behind is a composition of the work we do here on this side of eternity. How we have treated those whose lives we have touched is that which will be remembered more than our names attached to some work.

Taking a “3-generation” perspective on this is critical in my book. You, your children and grandchildren are all key elements of the composition.

T

TRANSFORMATION

If there is one thing sure it is that change is always coming our way… 24/27. The transitions that we have to navigate in Life 3.0 are  many and varied. Trust me on this.  Go look in the mirror for evidence of the physical realities.

The “trick” is whether we learn how to take whatever comes our way and transform it into something of value psychologically and spiritually.

Y

YOU AND YOUR HOUSE

Think of your “house” in terms of something which encompasses more than just your home or immediate family. The Greek word for house is “oikos”. From which we get our English words such as ecosystem, ecology, economics. That’s the term Joshua used when he declared,

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”.
(Joshua 24:15)
